TWINNING/VISITORS/HOSTS/ MEETING: 23rd October 2012
PRESENT: Twinning Committee, Hosts (11) 8 Visitors from Ingrandes
This meeting was arranged to say farewell to our guests and to discuss the future and possible ways forward.
The Mayor T Millon, thanked everyone for this opportunity to get to know Bromham and its people, this visit was a pleasing balance of both. Thanks from their hearts to all those involved with their visit.
THE FUTURE:
· More village events, a chance to meet the village organisations and local farmers, get to know the village. Local walks etc.( A programme of events is always difficult if the same people are visiting) perhaps a mixture of both could be considered. Hosting: important to stay with families, especially if school children are to be encouraged due to restrictions for children visiting - a way of encouraging families?
· Gerard Duwell is to retire after 10years as Chairman, so the future of the Ingrandes Jumalage will be discussed.
Perhaps a revisit may be possible next year depending on Gerard’s replacement and committee? Many thanks to Gerard for his 10 years as Chairman, with best wishes for the future. Best wishes also to absent friends from Ingrandes who were unable to travel this year.
Janet Giles thanked everyone involved and their input to make this visit a success, with much appreciation to all who contributed.
Thank you for the gifts of the Owls received from Ingrandes.
Peter Paget thanked everyone involved and our visitors - both new and old friends.
WAYS FORWARD:
· Try again to involve other organisations i.e. Wednesday Club/families, Choir etc. List of village organisations to be exchanged.
· Contact details of Ingrandes’s clubs/organisations in Parish Mag.
· Camping sites in Ingrandes?
· Refresh school links/teachers encourage families. Camping?
