HISTORY
From about 1955 a Parish Council committee raised money until in 1958 a non-attention Hard tennis court was laid at the POUND FIELD The cost was £600.00
A contribution of £200.00 from Wiltshire Education Authority was received. The court was to be used by all, not restricted to Bromham residents, this is still the situation to-day
In 1987 to maintain and run the facility the Bromham Tennis Club was formed a chairperson, treasurer, secretary and committee members were elected increasing use of the court with tournaments for adults and children were organised
In 1992 the court was again refurbished. At a cost of £7000.00 paid for by the Parish Council, Kennet District, Wilts County Council and a club contribution a new surface was laid along with new fencing.
October 2005 the court surface was re-laid at a cost of £6000.00 half contribution by the Tennis club and P.C.
The club holds 2 sessions each week, Wed evening and Sat afternoon all other time is available for use by anyone. We have an hourly charge of £3.00 for adults with a nominal charge of £1.50 for children Over the years about 10 to12 club members have paid an annual fee, presently £20.00 with a reduced rate for juniors Loan of rackets and balls can be arranged, usually free
