ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE-CHAIRMAN: R Amor asked for nominations for Chairman – P Paget proposed by DD seconded by KM  AIF

Nominations for Vice-Chairman – R Amor proposed by DD seconded by RJB AIF

ELECTION OF COMMITTEES:

A Parish Council School Governor is no longer required.

PP proposed that all committees remain the same for 2006 seconded by RA  AIF

·         ACTION UPDATE FROM MINUTES:

·         Parish Website: At the Annual Parish Meeting B Avery gave an update on the progress of the new look/updated  website which is near completion. Parish Booklet – on going.

·         Cemetery Inspection: KDC on going.  RH to contact KDC to paint the gates to the Churchyard extension.

·         Lights for Chantry and High Street: on going.

·         Cemetery Tap: on going.

·         Chittoe Heath ‘No Vehicle’ signs: WCC on going. Correspondence received from resident re: future of the Heath – should be again discussed at a Public Meeting.

·         Twinning signs: WCC to be advised of boundary locations, Avoca to be discussed after forthcoming visit!

·         Pound Parking: on going – to be discussed with WCC at next meeting.

·         Cars for Sale: situation being monitored also discuss with WCC.

·         Fence @ 32 The Pound: enforcement notice served. Wall and shed?

·         Highfield –traffic calming adjacent to play area? Discuss with WCC.

·         Hedge Rectory Corner – reply received and will not trim hedge as it was felt that this would lead to increased traffic speed.

CARNIVAL REQUEST FOR USE OF JUBILEE FIELD: no objection to both the Jubilee and Millennium Fields being used for addition parking on Carnival Day – June 24th.          PC to enter Quiz PP DD AP RP

ACTION UPDATE FROM ANNUAL PARISH MEETING:

·         Speed of traffic using the Common – WCC next meeting.

·         The Butts Council Track – due to use by horses using the centre of the track as agreed by the PC the whole of the track is now un usable as a footpath.  It was felt that horses should still be allowed to use the track as a safer alternative to using Hawkstreet, but a compromise to be agreed. RH to contact BADRA to ask if riders would keep their horses to one side only of the Track – new signs.

SPYE PARK CRIKET CLUB REQUEST FOR DONATION:

Congratulation to the club both in their progress and improvements to their facilities, but no funds are available at this time, but may consider in the November donations to local organisations.

PLAY AREA REPORT: Rubber tiles have been replaced at The Pound. It was also reported that the new area at the Pound is regularly being used.

New fence to be discussed at the July Policy meeting.

Dinosaur seat has also been replaced.

Painting of equipment at the Social Centre is due to start – G Lott.

New Signs to be re –ordered.

TWINNING REPORT: 4 to visit Avoca on 24th May. 16 to visit Ingrandes from Thursday 7th Sept-Tues 12 Sept. for the opening of a street to be named after Bromham.  Village video – on going. Pudding Afternoon 16/07/06 Brass band Evening 16/08/06

PARISH BUSINESS:

·         Pound Parking/parking in Passing Bays @ Yard lane WCC next meeting.

·         Football Field Trees to be cut by Wessex tress on 22 May.

·         Bath bus service well used, pensioners can now travel free.

·         New wheelie bin service to start in July.

·         Request for bin for Mrs Brown’s litter.

·         Concern about condition of road at Sandridge.  WCC

·         Transport Scheme: now have 3 volunteer drivers.  DP passed Medical.
