The Common. 40 MPH sign Westbrook: WCC has received requests and will be
in contact on going. Chantry Wall and railings have received attention.
- Pound/Highfield traffic calming WCC Meeting: on going.
- New Village Signs: two have been erected.
- Best kept Village Competition: has been judged.

Invite: 5 finalists,
Bromham being judged 5th July.
- Wyatt’s Lake: Enforcement Order served
- No Access/No Dogs Sign for Social Centre/Byelaws: It was agreed to order a sign
for the gate to the Social Centre – NO ACCESS TO THE MILLENNIUM FIELD.
- Caravan Brick Hill: KDC has served a 303 Order.
- Chittoe Heath/notice: On site meeting held with PP BA JB Mrs
Endoven and Spye Park Manager Mr Vines.
It was agreed to erect 2ft. high posts (from estate fallen
trees)around the Heath, allowing access for the mower and parking for 6
cars, with protection for the protected verge. PC to provide notice?
- Police Inspector Dean Knight request to attend PC Meeting: unable to attend this
meeting, re-schedule for 7.00pm
September.

CARNIVAL BEER TENT:AB produced Licence. Meeting held
between
Carnival
Committee, PC ,Social Centre, Greyhound representatives. It was agreed that The Greyhound would
provide drinks from 12noon – 6pm,
5pm-midnight
provided by Village Shop with the Social Centre also open.

raining the hall and staff are booked
and paid for.

attended Clerk’s meeting at Devizes
Town Hall – report
given concerning proposals. All 5
councils have now objected WCC proposals.

ALLOTMENTS – POUND/CEMETERY REFUSE: JB to clear refuse from the Pound
allotments and Cemetery waste.

PLAY AREA REPORT: EB reported damaged roof to multi-play
item at the Social Centre. D Fillis to repair. Items highlighted for removal to be
removed 28/06/07 RH to inform Insurance when completed.
FUTURE OF POUND/FENCING: If fenced the area will need
additional maintenance – grass cutting, It was suggested that bark replaces
the grass. Quote for dog proof fence (check play area fence requirements).
Quote for bark to replace rubber tiles requested both from Den Fillis. It was agreed that a tarmac path to the
equipment would not be installed, the Parish has two play areas, the area at
Social Centre area being accessible to all in the centre of the village and has
been updated to comply with the Discrimination Act. Tactile equipment to be considered.

the village bus shelter to be repaired.

TRANSPORT UPDATE / END OF TRAIL PERIOD:
Cost of
the Devizes bus service is almost even with just £3.00 outstanding. The Melksham bus has usually only one
passenger and is running at a loss with £77.00 out standing. Six weeks notice
is required to stop a service. BA
proposed that the Melksham service should cease. SEC:RP. KM to cancel this service and notify
parishioners via the Parish Magazine.

number is required for request stops. KM to advertise.

AWARDS PRESENTATION: London October 16th. Two representatives are invited to

PARISH BUSINESS:

PP announced a VIP visit to Bromham on the 17th
July; due to the Financial implication involved, a combined meeting with the
Adoption of The Code Of Practise was
arranged for June 19th. Funds from the Village Celebration Funds
could be used.

Twinning: 10 visitors are coming to Bromham
from Ingrandes in September.

A342 road alteration: RH to request cost of alterations
and overspend under the Freedom of Information Act from WCC. PRO: RA SEC: JP

New 30mph Signs: erected Church Hill including
30mph on road.
·
Cemetery grass cutting: PP has discussed with B Bullock,
grass on graves has been caused by new strimmer, it was agreed that a
‘blower’
should be purchased to remedy this.
Green cemetery bin has not been put out for
collection. PP/BB

July 1st: all bus shelters with three
sides should have a ‘No Smoking’ sign.
3 to be purchased.

Standard Board Vacancy: Councillor required.

Football Club: 30 volunteers repainted the
pavilion inside and out. Inspected by PP.
