Nearly 400 runners lined up to face a fierce headwind at the Bromham Christmas Pudding 10K.
Among those assembled were 32 Avon Valley Runners, the club's second highest turnout of 2007.
Leading home over the flat but exposed two lap course was Luke Quilliam, of Bitton Road Runners, in a time of 35:59, followed by Stephen Rose, of Bath AC, and Avon Valley Runners new recruit Vojtech Hajdu, in 36:43.
Sixth placed Kevin Sparey in 36:51, 16th placed Alistair Bartlett in 38:13 and 23rd placed Jim Hart in 39:12 brought Avon Valley Runners home as the third placed men's team behind Bath AC and Chippenham Harriers.
In the ladies' race, Tamsin Simmonds, of Swindon Harriers, led home in 40:51, followed by Jenny Carter, of Bath AC, and Avon Valley Runner Jackie Rockliffe in 41:52.
