Although the company's workshops are at full stretch at the moment, their order books for January and February are looking ominous.
Company spokesman Richard Moss said: "We had a record year last year and the order books for the beginning of 2009 are not looking anywhere near as good.
"We are asking people if they are willing to take early retirement or voluntary redundancy. It is almost guaranteed that ten jobs will go.
"It is a rotten time of year to be getting involved in this kind of activity, but we have to be realistic about the future."
In fact, the company has been less affected by the downturn in the housing market than many similar firms.
Mr Moss said: "We are increasingly being approached by housebuilders who are looking for Mark Wilkinson quality to help them sell their houses."
