U 9's Sat 31st Jan 2009 Fixture - Bromham v Melksham Pk
An even game played well by both sides with many chances being created but Bromhams Keeper Elliot was on form preventing Melksham Park from finishing on several occasions.

Simple passing with non stop pressure from the home team kept the field of play busy in all areas with Bromham gaining just reward from a direct pass from Tom who found Forward Ashley in a good opening resulting in an unstoppable shot to the back of the net.

Play remained steady and even for the remainder of the 1st half but with the efficiancy of the under 9's squad, visitors Melksham Pk were held at bay leaving the score at 1 - 0 to Bromham at the break.

After a prompt team talk at half time Manager and Coach Brett Weaving had the squad back on their toes leading warm up drills determined that the chill should not affect his young players - this was met with a good show of enthusiasm!

Second half saw our home lads up the tempo earning us domination on the field of play. Great turns by Brandon, Pace from Ollie and Ashley soon saw in a second goal. Forward Ashley managed an on target 'power shot' which was smashed into goal past the stranded Melksham keeper!

Within seconds of the restart Bromham suffered a slight mix up on field earning the away side a quick but 1st reply!Bromham regained their shape and determination and continued the battle for the ball where in the dying minutes they were awarded a penalty kick.

Striker of the day Ashley took the penalty earning the 3rd and final goal to take the game along with a hat-trick for himself.

Serious defending from Kiel and Thomas denied Melksham Park of further oppertunity on goal. On the refs whistle the score remained 3 to Bromham with 1 goal to visitors Melksham. Man of the match was awarded to Ashley while the remainding squad were praised for their determination and effort throughout the game!

From Brett to his players - "Very well done to ALL"! & Assistant Coach Jackson to Brett after the game " that was really excitin' wasn't it? I'm sure our Parents and Spectators would all agree!

It was lovely to see the u 9's playing as a team and passing the ball to all of their players. It's great to see the improvement in their skill that has resulted in a win. Well done to the coach, Brett.

When Melksham scored their goal, it was  hard to save because it was three players against me in goal.
All the over players worked hard, nobody stopped working.
