ANNUAL PARISH MEETING 15TH APRIL 2009
APRIL 08: Apr 19th Breach Close car park was officially opened.
MAY: Increase in cemetery fees
JUNE: KDC granted £3000 towards purchase of land.
JULY: KDC granted £2750 towards new play equipment.
BPC granted the Football Club £1000 towards the new toilets.
SEPTEMBER: Cemetery memorial safety check carried out by James Long.
Kiosks at Minty’s Top, Netherstreet and Hawkstreet adopted.
Tennis Court 50 year celebration
OCTOBER: Meeting with Crown Reps to discuss allotment rent increase.
8 new allotments at New Road to be acquired, due to new interest in smaller plots.
Meeting with WCC Highways to discuss traffic/parking at the Pound Junction, A342 pavement and Roughmoor Junction.
NOVEMBER: £850 donations made to local organisations. 67 £5.00 Raby gifts delivered by D Powney, again made possible by £250 donation from the Carnival Committee.
New Model Freedom of Information Scheme adopted.
DECEMBER: Councillor K Mahoney gained his blacksmiths qualification.
Precept reduced by £2000 (8% decrease) to 30,000
Mr Grose received £20 from the JG Davis fund as the oldest ex serviceman.
Christmas tree erected, electric supplied by the Church – Thanks to John Drew and helpers.
JANUARY 2009: Brownies request granted to plant 30 trees around the Millennium Field.
New Light at the Chantry erected.
Allotment rent increased by £5.00/acre agreed due to Crown rent increase (£83 to £88).
Flooding throughout the village – new drains to be installed at the Pound.
FEBRUARY:
Agreed that Mr Fillis would carry out the remaining repairs to memorials in the cemetery.
Many thanks to P Collins for clearing snow throughout the village.
New equipment installed at the SC play area costing £7200, (£5000 from PC remainder KDC grant)
MARCH: Meeting with the Crown Reps, will now only sell land for cemetery ext. and lease land at the top of the Millennium Fld for £1.00/annum peppercorn rent.
Seat installed at The Chantry. (Calor prize money)
Quotations for new notice board at Hawkstreet.
First Aid course attended by 17 parishioners, subsidised by £10/person by PC.
