It was reported that N Paget now has a source for trees to replace those that have been removed in Yard lane.

Lights at Jockey Lane/Breach Close footpath and The Pound footpath have been reported as not working.

·        WC - Pavement  Roughmoor to Rowde ––Roughmoor signs  PB to request site meeting. CLARENCE: Westbrook  Stills Pond flooding: on going

·        Calor Prize Money- Hawkstreet notice board:  completed.

·        WC Dog Bylaws: PB reported that Kennet Bylaws will have been transferred to WC. RH to report in Par Mag.  Remind owners to clean up after their dogs.

Donations received from Wednesday Club £250.00 Carnival Committee £200.00.   R Schofield has been in contact.

JUBILEE/MILLENNIUM FIELD, NEW ROAD COMPLAINT : complaint received concerning an incident when footballs from the training pitch have been retrieved from parishioner’s garden.  A further request for adequate fencing behind the goal or goal position altered (insufficient area to alter).  Also the conifers require trimming and the flood lights are being left on.  PP attended the recent meeting of the FBC and this complaint was discussed and action will be taken to rectify matters of concern.

ALLOTMENTS – APPLICATIONS: RE TERMINATION OF TENANCY AGREEMENT AND APPLICATIONS: Following one month’s advert of the vacant allotment, two applications received from J T Paget and T May.  It was agreed to allow J T Paget to take over the land vacated by C Thompson.  Mr C Collins volunteered to vacate 1.75 acres to accommodate Mr T May’s application.  Due to a shortage of small allotments it was agreed that the ¼ acre next to the New Road allotments could be used to provide a further 8 plots. PRO JG  SEC KM AIF. The tenancy of the remaining 1.50 acres given to Mr T May PRO RA  SEC BA  AIF.

RA to mark out new plots.  PC to plough.

RH to contact K Hobbs & J Paget to update records.

NEW TENANCY AGREEMENT: Agreed as presented for small allotments.

PLAY AREA REPORT: INSPECTION & RISK ASSESSMENT REPORT/REPAIRS

All high risk repairs have now been completed. New bark has been ordered.

Record contractor has inspected fittings on the Devil’s Island swing and removed the health walker for repairs/modification.

PARISH PROPERTY REPORT: NOTICE BOARDS: New Road and Hawkstreet doors require attention due to weather.  DF

Many thanks to Mr Collens for repairs to the Village notice board.

NEW SEATS:  DF has completed new base at the Pound footpath seat.

BUS SHELTER:  The light not working at the Pound  has been reported by RH

NEW SIGNS: ‘No cycling/no ball games/no dogs’ to be ordered from Citeglen. Price quoted £23.31to be queried and ordered.   PRO JC SEC JG

AUDIT REPORT: Completed and advertised as required. Comments: new seats to be added to Assets Register, nil value assets to be included at £1.00.  Ensure figures entered are accurately completed before submission for audit.

TWINNING COMMITTEE REPORT: Successful visit to Avoca, with visits to Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains etc. B&B very good with everyone made welcome.  Return visits are being planned.

·        Police request for surgery before some Parish Council Meetings – No objections.   BA to check Oct. meeting?  The Inspector wishes to be informed if parishioners reporting incidents are kept waiting as previously reported.

·        St John’s Ambulance canvassers have been causing concern regarding requests for funds through direct debits, and calling evenings.  This was reported to the Police and St John’s Ambulance.

PARISH BUSINESS:

·        Village Plan? Future Housing and environment /Countryside/ ASBO’s. Neighbourhood Watch

·        Halloween Posters available.

·        A342 pavement resurfacing –not happened yet;  confusing road markings and signs at the Melksham junction also require attention.  Site meeting to be arranged. PB

·        Pound Junction/speed of traffic still causing concern. WC comments?

·        Dangerous trees at Chittoe – reported.

·        Jubilee fence in New Road has been damaged and is being used to gain access to the field. Cars also parking in New Road instead of the SC car park.
