PARISHIONERS 10 MINUTES

Parish Christmas Tree: due to vandalism 18 light bulbs had to be replaced. (Thanks to J Drew for replacements) It was suggested that next year the tree is erected at the side of the Blind House in the Churchyard.

A donation towards the electricity used to be given.

Huntsmead sign has been damaged this was reported to the Clerk and reported to Clarence.

Many thanks to Mr P Collins for his services clearing the snow throughout the village.

ACTION UPDATE FROM MINUTES:

·        WC - Pavement Roughmoor to Rowde: Reply received RE Parishioners accident – WC is unable to accept correspondence concerning the accident unless confirmation received from parishioner. Request for inspection reports under the Freedom of Info. Act.   Roughmoor signs: Village Centre to be added at Roughmoor, all to be implemented after April.   CLARENCE: Westbrook, A342 Melksham Junction: on going         

·        Ariel Village Photograph: on going

·        Holly Tree @Hawkstreet: JB to trim. New Road light tree requires attention, also hedge at the Pound.

·        Calor Prize Money- stone plaque:  ordered.

·        Breach Close - Road /Car park: work to commence 25thJanuary to be completed before the end of February.  There will then be a period of 6-12 months before officially adopted by WC.  The ‘village car park’ signs may have to be altered to comply with highway regulations.  Possible uses to provide an income for the new car park was discussed.  Would planning permission be required for caravan storage?

It was also noted that MWF employees are again parking at the entrance to       Breach Close. PP to contact MWF

·        Wyatt’s Lake: action is being taken by the Environmental Agency.

·        K Cowdrey Memorial Seat: Seat with plaque to be sited on the Village Car Park.  RH to apply for a Sect.96 Licence to place a seat in Church Hill adjacent to the Salt bin.

·        Jubilee Field Gate: on going

·        Lights at Jockey Lane /Pound Footpath/Pound bus shelter:  on going since October!  PB to follow up.

·        WC Green Machine: future of the machine is being discussed by WC.          Speed Limits: comments sent.

·        Chittoe Heath Plantation Proposed Footpath: on going

·        Cemetery wall over hanging trees:  on going

·        Refuse bin request –Wyatt’s lake: RH to request replacement refuse bin at Wyatt’s Lake lay-by.

·        Yard Lane banks/trees etc: RH to contact WC.

TWINNING COMMITTEE REPORT: Greetings received from Avoca, Ingrandes and Lack.  DP received pictures of snow in Avoca.  The first meeting of the new committee will be on January 22nd.

Mr J Dillon, 18 High Street, erection of garage.  NO OBJ

Mr I Watson, Maples Farm, Westbrook Road, erection of cattle shed and associated hard standing. New entrance. NO OBJ (OPTION 1)

Withdrawn Application:

Mr J Few, The firs, 93 Netherstreet.

Demolish conservatory and rebuild garden room. Pitched roof over front entrance, kitchen and utility room.

PARISH BUSINESS: Raby Fund query- How did it originate?

Pot Holes throughout the village – WC maintenance to be increased to carry out repairs.

Poor road markings at the B3102/A1342 – not visible at night.

Grit bins at Chittoe?

2 Dogs off their leads led to an incident with parishioners, this was reported to the police and a caution was issued to the dog’s owner.

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee July 5th 2012: Suggestions for village celebrations? A committee to be appointed.

Cardboard Skips: this service has been abuse again, it was agreed that the skips would be removed.
